Troubleshooting FAQ
- Check if you have toggled each individual switches of the DIP Switch in receiver to the same positions as these in transmitter. After that, please re-power TX and RX for DIP switch changes to take effect.
- Try connecting the transmitter to the receiver directly, without using the Ethernet switch. Then check if the problem is solved.
- If direct connection works, then try connecting the transmitter and the receiver to a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Check if it still works. If it doesn’t work, it proves that the processing capacity of the Ethernet switch cannot reach Gigabit. In this situation, please use a new Gigabit Ethernet switch.
- Check if you have toggled each individual switches of the DIP Switch in receiver to the same positions as these in transmitter. After that, please re-power TX and RX for DIP switch changes to take effect.
- Check if the “Power” LED indicators on the transmitter and the receiver are solid on.
- Check if the “Link” LED indicators on the transmitter and the receiver are solid on. If not, try using a new Cat cable.
- Set the source resolution to 4K@30Hz or 1080P to check if it helps.
- Try connecting the source to the display device directly, without using the KVM extender. Then check if there is any video output.
- When the KVM extender works with your Ethernet switch, Gigabit bandwidth is required for the end-to-end data transmission.
- It is recommended to separate the KVM extender’s local area network from your home network, otherwise they will affect each other, causing the network speed to slow down or causing the source video to flicker.
- Check if you have connected the transmitter to your PC via a USB cable.
- Try connecting the USB cable to another USB port on your PC.
- Try plugging in your USB devices if they have an independent power supply. Check if the USB devices are compliant with USB 2.0 specification.
- Try connecting the USB devices to the PC directly without using the KVM extender. Then check if the USB connection works.
Other FAQ
A KVM extender extends video and USB signal over distance for remote control. They are widely used for data control centers, security surveillance systems, video gaming setups, etc. Read this KVM extender definitive guide to learn more.
Yes, it does work with a network switch and you can deploy up to 16 sets of 4KIP100-KVM in the same network.
A gigabyte ethernet switch (1G for each port) will work. If you are connecting a good number of devices, check the specs and make sure the switch is capable of transmitting them all at the same time.
DIP setting makes the routing easy – just toggle each set’s DIP switch to the same positions. You will find more details in this product manual at page 6.
Not exactly. You can toggle the DIP switch to change the routing but they still work in pair.
No. They are only sold in pair.
AV over IP stands for “Audiovisual over Internet Protocol”. It is the transmission of audio, video and control signals over a network cable infrastructure, like WAN, LAN or the Internet. Different from conventional analogue AV environments, AV over IP commonly refers to the use of standard network equipment to switch and transmit audio/video signals.
Compared with traditional AV solutions, AV over IP solutions boast more flexibility and scalability. The number of sources and displays attached is no longer limited. Even when physical ports run out, multiple IP switches can be connected to expand. They also break the distance barriers and allow you to have better ratio of inputs to outputs.

I am using this to set up two workstations for my desktop and may be considering to buy more when my kid is back. It's happy to find this one work immediately after installation. I have tried a few products, including an over Ethernet kit and a wireless HDMI extender. Video delivery is not as stable as this one. Will definitely recommend.
This is really good value of money. I have all KVM extenders connected to my 10 gigabit switch and everything has been working flawlessly at 1080p 144Hz. If you are encountering problems like screen flickering or input malfunction, consider connecting the transmitter and receiver directly. This step can help determine if the issue is caused by insufficient switching bandwidth on your switch. Many gigabit switches are labelled to handle 1gbps Tx/Rx simultaneously on each port, but some are not working as advertised. If flickering persists, it may be necessary to use a dedicated cable from each KVM to your switch. Furthermore, try a more reliable network switch or just use a 10 gigabit switch.
Bought this after having issues with a different HDMI USB Ethernet KVM, so far it's been working very well. The image is clean and the response time seems great, can't even tell the difference to having my PC directly connected. I use it with a racing simulator setup, which I have connected to my computer outputting 1080p/120hz. I did have to disable HDMI Deep Colour on my TV to get an image, after contacting support they told me it's because their unit doesn't support 4K/60hz only 30hz, which is stated in this description. I use 2 of the USB's for my steering wheel and pedals with a powered USB hub in the 3rd port, which I connect a wireless Keyboard and a USB wireless headset. I haven't experienced any issues after hours of use. My only issue with the device is that after using it and turning off the receiver end my PC still stays connected to the HDMI output so I have to unplug the HDMI to my graphics card for it to go back to the Display port which my monitor uses. Not a big deal though.
The AV Access HDMI and KVM Ethernet Extender is amazing. It transfers video and USB signals with 0 perceivable delay. The video is crisp and has no frame drops, this was tested over 100 ft of Cat 6 cable. The extender works both on a direct connection and over a switch, When sent through a gigabit switch it takes a few seconds for the transmitter to link with the receiver but once it does, the experience is the same as if you had just run a 100ft HDMI cable. The KVM extender works amazing, plug and play. No drivers are needed and it sends the data without any issues. The whole product is extremely compact and quiet so you do not have to worry about noise or it being in your way. It works over an ethernet switch and does not require a direct connection, this means you can just plug it into your existing network (gigabit), and it will run perfectly. It also works with a direct connection, but there is no difference in quality and speed. There is no loss of quality, I tested 4k at 30hz over 100 ft of CAT 6 and detected no loss of frames or dead pixels. The response time is in the 10's of milliseconds and is not noticeable. Overall this product is amazing, and very inexpensive considering its functionality. I would 100% recommend if you are looking for a USB and HDMI extender over Ethernet in one unit.
This works as expected. I dont notice any lag between the mouse, kb and the monitor. It's easy to install and really is a plug n play extender kit. My only complaints are that it didnt come with the HDMI cable. However the stable performance and good price has made it up.
